A morning of dives allowed us to visit three potential sites at which to deploy our instruments. Additional sites will be visited in the coming days and visual surveys will then be carried out to assess benthic cover and fish diversity at each of our 3 final sites.
Our morning of exciting exploration was balanced by a gruelling afternoon of mixing and pouring nearly 800 pounds of concrete to produce our moorings. All of this work will be worth it if the weight of these moorings ensures that none of our instruments are lost during the deployment.
