"One Bottlenose Dolphin"

Our only siting for today: a lonely bottlenose dolphin (Photo: A. Mooney,  NMFS permit # 15530 to CRC)

Well, some days are great because of the numbers of sightings. Some days are just great weather (and you'd expect lots sightings but you don't get them).  Today, we had great weather, probably the smoothest day on the trip for a while. But total number of sightings = 1. Total numbers of animals = 1. We spotted one very nice bottlenose dolphin (although it did not lend itself to satellite tagging or biopsy).  But, as you can see in these pics, the weather was quite astounding for most of the day. Just, some days you have to appreciate the scenery because that's all you get. :)
