Quite a few sightings in the past few days including spinner dolphins, spotted dolphins, pigmy killer whales, and pilot whales. But not our target species (false killers and melon-headed whales). It's been windy up north where these animals hang out, but we're hoping for better weather tomorrow with a goal of heading that way. The satellite tag data from several days ago indicates the group of melon-headed whales we saw and tagged previously are hanging out where we left them... waiting. Meanwhile, we're busy examining the previously collected data. The picture below is a spectrogram of some of the clicks and whistles recorded by the Dtag on the melon-headed whale. We're not yet sure which animal made these sounds.
